Advance Directive: Word of the Week

Hi Planners, one of the pieces of a complete estate plan is an advance directive (sometimes called a living will). In North Carolina, you can communicate end of life wishes in the event: a) you have an irreversible or incurable condition b) you are unconscious and unlikely to regain consciousness and/or c) you have end-stage dementia. Will the situation still be hard? Yes. Will this at least give loved ones comfort that they don’t have to guess at your wishes? Yes.
